Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)
BB4C has been working to improve women’s access to clean and safe water supply, gender- sensitive sanitation and hygiene facilities both in schools and communities covering wider range of activities. We are currently implementing these activities in Jonglei, Central Equatoria, and Lakes States and we intend to expand to other States with time to reach more women and communities.
Through a multi-faceted approach, our WASH program seeks to protect the public health of vulnerable communities, their rights to safe water and sanitation, their education through provision of sanitary kits to keep girl child in school, and their safety through gender-sensitive facilities that minimize the risk of GBV.
Our activities include construction of water points (drilling and rehabilitation of borehole and mini water yards), construction of pit latrines, provision of hand-washing facilities, training on good water storage facilities, provision of WASH NFIs, provision of sanitary kits to women and girls, and education of good hygiene practices through community hygiene promoters.
